, full of strength, fame, beauty, and detachment, is always content with Himself, untainted by sinful qualities. He does not create a special situation for any living being. But the living being, who is enamored with ignorance, desires to be placed in a certain state of being. That is how his karma and the chain of karma-fruits begin. The living being is full of the dream of higher nature and knowledge. Yet, due to his limited power, he is in the state of ignorance. God is omnipotent, but not the living being. He knows God, that is, He is omniscient. But the living being is of the size of an atom, and the cause, which is the living soul, can be fulfilled only by the Almighty God. Therefore, the living being has the ability to desire as he pleases. When he is enamored with such strong desires, God allows him to fulfill those desires. But he is never responsible for the karma and fruits of a desired state. That is why, being in a state of enchantment, the body-dweller identifies with the present body and is subject to temporary pleasures and pains. God, as the Supreme Soul, is the eternal companion of the living entity. That is why, just as a person can smell the fragrance of a flower by being close to it, he can understand the desires of the living entity. Desire is the subtle form of attachment of the living entity, and God fulfills his desire according to the merit of the living entity. Man desires. God fulfills. That is why an individual is not omnipotent in fulfilling his desires. However, God can fulfill all desires. Because He is neutral towards everyone, He does not interfere with the desires of the subtle independent living entities. But when someone desires Krishna, that God takes special care and encourages him to desire in such a way that he can attain Him and become eternally happy. That is why the Vedic mantras say: “Esha u hyeva sadhu karma karayati tam yamebhyo lokebhya unninishate Esha u eva sadhu karma karayati yamadho ninishate – The Lord engages the living being in pious activities in such a way that he is saved. The Lord places him in sinful activities in such a way that he goes to hell” (Kausitaki Upanishad 3.8).
a. But Krishna’s devotees say, “All is the source of knowledge, all is the fire of knowledge.” Knowledge is all there is, “In many births, one attains knowledge, as stated in the 19th verse.” One takes refuge in many births. That is, everything is seen through the sun and is attracted in many ways.
