It is working. “Mayadhyakshena prakrutih 180

suyate sacharacharam – nature is working under my direction,” said Lord Krishna. When we see wonderful things happening in material nature, we must know that there is a controller behind this world. Nothing is manifest without control. It is childish not to recognize the controller. For example, a child may think that it is wonderful for a motor car to run without being pulled by a horse or any other animal, but a wise person knows the mechanism of a motor car. He always knows that there is a person behind the machine. That is, the driver. Similarly, everything is working under the direction of the driver, who is God. As we will see in the following chapters, all living entities are accepted by God as His parts and parcels. Just as a grain of gold is gold and a drop of sea salt is salt, we living beings, as parts of the Supreme Lord, that is, God or Lord Krishna, possess all the qualities of that God in a microcosm. Because we are microcosms, subservient Gods. At present, we are trying to control nature as if we were trying to control space and planets. This controlling nature is present in Krishna, that is why we are here. But we must know that although we have the nature to dominate nature, we are not the Supreme Lord. This is explained in the Bhagavad Gita.

What is material nature? This is also described in the Bhagavad-gita as aparaprakriti. The living entity is described as paraprakriti. Whether it is avara or parara, nature is always under the control of God. Nature is feminine. Just as the husband controls all the activities of a wife, she is under the control of God. Nature is controlled and controlled by God, who is the controller of all things. The living entities and nature are both controlled and controlled by God. Although the living entities are the creations of God, they should be considered as nature according to the Bhagavad-gita. This is clearly stated in the Seventh Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita. “Apareya mitastvanyam prakritim This material nature is my paraprakriti, but the means to this are different from the living entities (living entities).”

Material nature is filled with three modes. They are Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Above these three modes is time. These three
Karmas are performed under the control and supervision of the combination of qualities, under the control of time. These karmas are performed indefinitely. We enjoy the fruits of those karmas or experience them as sorrow. For example, suppose I am a businessman. I work hard with my intelligence and build a big bank balance. Then I am enjoying. But later if I lose all my money in business, I am sorrow. Similarly, in every field of life, we enjoy the fruits of karmas or experience sorrow due to the fruits of karmas. This is called “karma”.

The Lord (God), the living entity (the soul), nature, time, and action are described in the Bhagavad-gita. Of these five, God, the living entities, material nature, and time are eternal. The appearance of nature may be temporary, but it is not an illusion. Some philosophers say that the appearance of nature is an illusion. But according to the doctrine of the Bhagavad-gita or according to the doctrine of the Vaishnavites, it is not so. The appearance of the world is not considered an illusion; it is accepted as true, but temporary. It is compared to the clouds that move in the sky or to the rainy season that produces grain. As soon as the rainy season is over, as soon as the clouds go away, all the crops that are nourished by the rain wither. Similarly, this material appearance occurs at a particular time, lasts for some time, and then disappears. The cycles of nature are like that. But this cycle is constantly working. Therefore, nature is eternal, it is not an illusion. The Lord has called this “my nature.” This material nature is energy separate from the Lord. Similarly, the living entities are also forms of the divine will. They are not separate from the Lord but are eternally related. So the Lord, the living entity, material nature, time are all related to each other; all these are eternal. But the remaining factor, karma, is eternal. No. The fruit of karma may indeed be very old. We are experiencing the fruit of karma for eternity. But we can change our fruit of karma. This change depends on our perfection of knowledge. We are situated in various karmas. Yet we certainly do not know what kind of work to undertake to get out of all these actions and reactions. But that is also explained in the Bhagavad-gita.

The state of God (God) is the state of supreme consciousness. Being divine, the living entities are also forms of consciousness. Both the living entity and nature are nature, that is, divine energy.
