Without it, the historical significanc Edit104

e of the Bhagavad Gita should be ascertained on the authenticity of Sri Krishna. It is a great sin to interpret the Bhagavad Gita without giving due consideration to the intention of Sri Krishna. To save oneself from this sin, one should understand God as the Godhead, as Arjuna, the first disciple of man, directly understood. Such an understanding of the Bhagavad Gita is truly beneficial and authentic for the welfare of human society in fulfilling the task of life.

Krishna consciousness is important for human society. Because it gives the highest perfection of life. In that, everything is explained in detail in the Bhagavad Gita. Unfortunately, some unrighteous people have taken the Bhagavad Gita as a means to propagate their demonic nature and mislead people into not understanding the simple rules of life correctly. Everyone should understand how great God or Krishna is and what the real condition of the living entity is. Everyone should know that the living entity is an eternal slave, and if he does not serve Krishna, he will have to serve Maya in the diversity of the three modes of nature and thus go on revolving in the cycle of birth and death continuously. Why, even for the nominally liberated Maya knowledge, that method is not necessary. This knowledge is the greatest science. Every living entity should hear this for his own benefit.

Especially in the Kali Yuga, the general public is fascinated by the external potency of Lord Krishna. They wrongly think that everyone can become happy by increasing material comforts. They do not know that material nature is very powerful. Because everyone is tightly bound by the rigid conditions of material nature. The living entity is fortunately a member of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and therefore his natural duty is to serve the Supreme Lord. But due to the influence of Maya, man tries to become happy through various forms of sense gratification. That never makes him happy. He does not satisfy his senses.

Instead of satisfying the senses of the Lord, one should satisfy them. That is the highest perfection of life. This is what the Lord wants, this is what He asks. Man should understand this central point of the Bhagavad-gita. Our Krishna consciousness movement is teaching this central point all over the world. We do not want to contaminate the meaning of the Bhagavad-gita as it is, so those who are serious about benefiting from the study of the Bhagavad-gita should come to the Bhagavad-gita under the direct direction of the Lord to understand it practically.

eternal guru, Vasuvididhu Pondi Parivrajaka, 16 devotees of the principles of devotion, go to Goswami Maharaja Prabhupada. If there is any reason to be angry about this, I will take it.

All the English Bhagavad Gita books before my Bhagavad Gita As It Is are written to satisfy the self-interest of some person. But our attempt to present the Bhagavad Gita as it is is to convey the work of the Supreme Lord, Lord Krishna. Our desire is to convey the will of Lord Krishna, not the will of some mental thinker like a politician, philosopher or scientist. Because no matter how much knowledge they have, their knowledge of Lord Krishna is very little. When Lord Krishna says, “Masmanabhava madbhakto madyaji maam samaskuru,” we do not differentiate between Lord Krishna and the inner soul of Lord Krishna, as mere scholars do. Lord Krishna is perfect. There is no difference between Krishna’s name, Krishna’s form, Krishna’s qualities, and Krishna’s pastimes. It is very difficult for a person who is not a Krishna devotee in the Parampara Vidhana (in the Guru-Shishya Parampara) to understand this complete position of Sri Krishna. Usually, mere scholars, politicians, philosophers, and Swamis, without complete knowledge of Sri Krishna, write commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita and try to drive away or kill Krishna. Such unauthentic commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita are known to be of Mayavada origin. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has warned us about such unauthentic people. Sri Chaitanya has clearly said that anyone who tries to understand the Bhagavad Gita from the perspective of Mayavada will make a great mistake. The result of that mistake is that a disciple of the Bhagavad Gita who has gone astray will certainly become disillusioned with the spiritual path and will be unable to reach God.

Our sole purpose in presenting this Bhagavad Gita as it is is to lead the disciple towards the purpose for which Lord Krishna incarnates in this world in a single day of Lord Brahma, i.e. once in every 8,60,00,00,000 years. This purpose is stated in the Bhagavad Gita itself, and we should accept it as it is. Otherwise, there is no point in trying to understand the Bhagavad Gita and its speaker, Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna first spoke the Bhagavad Gita to Maryadeva billions of years ago. We should accept this truth. Thus, any personal interpretations
