the unfortunate do not use their human power in the service of the Lord.

With the intellect, one is able to do both good and bad deeds. Tasmad yogaya yujyasva yogah karmasu kaushalam.

Buddhiyuktaḥ — one who is engaged in devotional service; jahati — one who gives up; in this world of mine: ube — both; sukṛta duppute — both good and bad results; tarkat — because of; yogaya — for devotional service; yujyanya — should be established in that way; yogaḥ — devotional service to Krishna; karmanu — in all activities: practice the skill.

A person engaged in the service of birds will be freed from the effects of both good and bad in this very birth. Therefore, strive for yoga, which is the mastery of all actions.

Purport: From time immemorial, every living entity has accumulated the results of various good and bad actions. In fact, he remains constantly unaware of his real nature. Man’s ignorance is removed by the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita. It teaches him to surrender to Lord Krishna in every way and become free from the harmful chain of action and the fruit of action that goes on from birth to birth. Therefore, Arjuna is advised to perform action in Krishna consciousness, which is the process of purifying the fruit of action.

The fruit of action is the fruit of the mind. The one who is free from the bonds of birth is called the word “gacchandyanamayam”.

karmajam – caused by lustful actions; buddhiyuktaah – engaged in devotional service; hi – truly; phalam – fruits; tyaktva – giving up; manishinah – great sages or devotees; janmabandha – from the bonds of birth and death; vinirmuktaah – liberated; padam. vidamnu; gacchanti – attain; anamayam – free from sorrow.

Thus, by engaging in devotional service to the Lord, the sages or devotees become liberated from the results of actions in this material world. In this way, they attain liberation

Through) attaining the state of freedom from sorrow.

Commentary: The liberated beings belong to a state where they are free from physical hair, as stated in the Srimad Bhagavatam (10.14.58).

Yada wilderness

The word of the Lord is the most beautiful,

“For one who has become the refuge of the world, known as the one who bestows salvation, and who has accepted the boat of the lotus feet of the Lord, the ocean of samsara becomes like water at the soles of his feet. The supreme state, that is, the party without material attachments (Vaikuntha), is his destination, not a place where danger lurks at every step of life.”

Man, ignorantly, cannot understand that this material world is a place of misery, full of dangers at every step. It is only because of ignorance that the lowly people try to improve their situation by performing fruitive actions. They think that the results of such actions will make them happy. They do not know that no body anywhere in this universe offers a life free from misery. The miseries of life, such as birth, death, old age, and diseases, are everywhere in the material world. But one who understands his real natural position as the eternal servant of the Lord and thus knows the position of the Supreme Lord, is established in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. Consequently, he becomes eligible to enter the heavenly worlds, where there is no material, miserable life or the effects of time and death. To know one’s own natural position is to know the supreme position of the Lord. One who wrongly thinks that the position of the living entity and the position of the Lord are on the same level is considered to be in darkness. Therefore, he cannot be established in the service of the Lord. He is not the Lord and thus arranges the path for birth and death. But one who understands that service is his position and establishes himself in the service of the Lord quickly becomes eligible for the Vaikuntha world. Service rendered to the Lord is called Karma Yoga or Buddhi Yoga, or, to put it simply, devotional service to the Lord.
