PURPORT The difference between a person in Krishna consciousness and a person in body consciousness is that the former is interested in Krishna, while the latter is interested in the results of his work. A person who is interested in Krishna and works only for Him is certainly a liberated person. He has no anxiety about the results of his work. The reason for anxiety about the results of any work is explained in the Bhagavatam that one works in a dualistic sense, that is, without knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Krishna is the Supreme Truth, the Supreme Lord. There is no dualistic sense in Krishna consciousness. Everything is the result of Krishna’s energy. Krishna is all-auspicious. Therefore, the work in Krishna consciousness is perfect. It is transcendental and has no material effect. Therefore, in Krishna consciousness, one is filled with peace. But one who is caught up in calculating gain for sense gratification does not have such peace. The understanding that there is no other existence besides Krishna is the platform for peace and security. This is the secret of Krishna consciousness.

When the body-dweller controls his nature and mentally abandons all karma, he resides comfortably in the city with nine gates (the physical body), neither performing karma nor being the cause of karma.
Purport: The embodied living entity resides in a city with nine gates.
The bodily activities, or the activities of the city of the body, are performed effortlessly due to its special qualities. The soul, even though it is subject to the conditions of the body, can, if it so desires, transcend those conditions. It is only because of its higher nature that it identifies with the material body. That is why it becomes miserable. Through Krishna consciousness, the living entity becomes aware of his real position and thus frees himself from bondage. Therefore, when a person takes up Krishna consciousness, he immediately becomes completely detached from bodily activities. In such a controlled life, with thoughts completely changed, he lives happily in the city of the nine gates. The nine gates are mentioned as follows:
The nine doors of the pure body of the swans are the source of the leela. | The whole world is a place of residence and movement.
“The Lord who resides in the body of the living entity is the master of all beings in the universe. The body has nine doors (two eyes, two nostrils, two ears, a mouth, anus, and anus). The living entity identifies with the body in its conditioned state, but when it identifies with the Lord within itself, it becomes free like God, even while in the body. (Svetasvataro Upanishad 3.18)”
Therefore, one who is in Krishna consciousness is free from the external and internal activities of the material body.
