: suyate nadaracharam – nature is working under my direction,” said Lord Krishna. When we see wonderful things happening in material nature, we must realize that there is a controller in this world. Nothing is manifest without control. It is childish not to recognize the controller. For example, a horse or other machine knows that there is a person, i.e. a driver, behind the machine, and a child may think that it is wonderful that a motor car can run without being pulled by an animal, but a wise person always knows the arrangement of the motor car mechanism. Similarly, under the direction of the driver, who is God, all living beings are accepted by God as His parts and parcels. Everything is golden and functioning. As we will see in the following chapters, just as a grain is gold and a drop of sea salt, we, as living entities, possess all the qualities of that God in a minute measure. We are the Supreme Controller, that is, God or Lord, Lord Krishna, because we are the subtle Gods, the subordinate Gods. At present, we are trying to control nature, just as we are trying to control space and planets. This controlling nature is present in Lord Krishna, that is why we are here. But we must know that although we have the nature of dominating nature, we are not the Supreme Controllers. This is explained in the Bhagavad Gita.

What is material nature? This is also described in the Bhagavad-gita as aparaprakriti. The living entity is described as paraprakriti. Whether it is avara or parara, nature is always under the control of God. Nature is the embodiment of woman. Just as the husband controls all the activities of a wife, she is under the control of God. Nature is controlled and controlled by God, who is the controller of all things. The living entities and nature are both controlled and controlled by God. Although the living entities are the creations of God, they should be considered as nature according to the Bhagavad-gita. This is clearly stated in the Seventh Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita. “Apareya mitastvanyam prakritim viddhime varam / jivabhutaam This material nature is my paraprakriti, but beyond this is another nature, the living entities (living beings).”

Material nature is filled with three modes. They are the modes of goodness, non-goodness, and non-evilness. Above these three modes is time. These three
By the combination of qualities, under the control of eternal time, there are karmas. These karmas are performed indefinitely. We enjoy the fruits of those karmas or experience them as sorrow. For example, suppose I am a businessman. I am a bhogi. But later if I lose all my money in business, I am sorrow. I work hard with my intelligence and establish a big bank balance. Then similarly in every field of life we enjoy the fruits of karmas or suffer from the fruits of karmas. This is called “karma”.

God (God), the living entity (the living soul), nature, time, and action are described in the Bhagavad Gita. Of these five, God, the living entities, material nature, and time are eternal. According to the theory or the Vaishnava theory, it is not so. The appearance of the world is not considered to be an illusion; it is accepted as real but temporary. It is compared to the clouds that move in the sky or to the rainy season that produces grain. When the rainy season is over, when the clouds go away, all the crops that are nourished by the rain wither. Similarly, this material appearance takes place at a particular time, lasts for some time, and then disappears. The processes of nature are like that. But this cycle is constantly working. Therefore nature is eternal, it is not an illusion. The Lord has called it “My nature.” This material nature is energy separate from the Lord. Similarly, the living entities are also forms of the divine energy. They are not separate from the Lord and are eternally related. Therefore the Lord, the living entity, material nature, time are all also related to each other; all these are eternal. But the remaining element, karma, is not eternal. The fruit of karma may indeed be very ancient. We are experiencing the fruits of karma for eternity. But we can change our fruits of karma. This change depends on our perfection of knowledge. We are stuck in karma for ages. Yet we do not know what kind of work to do to get out of the action and reaction of all these actions. But that too is explained in the Bhagavad Gita.

The state of God (God) is the state of supreme consciousness. Being the divine, the living entities are also forms of consciousness. Both the living entity and nature are nature, that is, the divine energy.
