e one who is known as the source of salvation, becomes like water. “Varasapada means a place without material hairs. For one who has accepted the boat of the Lord, the ocean of samsara, the foot-prints of the feet (Vaikuntha), is his destination, not a place where danger lurks at every step of life.”
Man cannot know in ignorance that this material world is a place of misery where danger lurks at every step. It is only due to ignorance that people with little intelligence try to improve their situation through fruitive actions. They think that the results of such actions will make them happy. They do not know that no body anywhere in this
universe gives a life free from sorrow. The miseries of life, i.e. birth, death, old age, and diseases, are everywhere in the material world. But one who understands his real natural position as the eternal servant of the Lord and thus attains the position of the Supreme Lord, One who has understood this is established in the divine loving service of the Lord. Consequently, he becomes eligible to enter the heavenly realms, where there is no material, miserable life or the effects of time and death. To know one’s own natural state also means to know the sublime state of the Lord. One who wrongly thinks that the state of the living entity and the state of the Lord are on the same level is considered to be in darkness. Therefore, he cannot be established in the service of the Lord. He becomes the Lord himself and thus prepares the way for birth and death. But one who understands that service is his position and establishes himself in the service of the Lord quickly becomes eligible to attain the heavenly realms. Service rendered to the Lord is called karma yoga or buddhi yoga, or, to put it simply, devotional service to the Lord.
dense – intelligence with divine service; vyatitarishyati – if it passes, then; ganasi you will attain; intelligence that does not care about nirveda; srotavyanya – grasping what is to be heard; srutanya – grasping what has already been heard; – also.
When you transcend the law of intellect, the state of infatuation, you become oblivious to what you have heard and to what you should hear.

Purport: There are many good examples in the lives of great devotees of the Lord who have abandoned all non-Vedic activities simply by engaging in service to the Lord. When a person truly understands Lord Krishna and his relationship with Him, even if he is an experienced brahmin, he naturally completely abandons all sensual activities. Thus says Srimadhavendrapuri, a devotee of the Blessed One and a teacher in the Bhaktavarampara:
With the veneration of the Lord, I bathe in the holy water of the Lord, O God, with the reverence of the Father, and with the reverence of the Lord, I offer my prayers to Him, and I offer my forgiveness. I am the one who has come to the Lord,
“O Sandhyavandam! May you be victorious! O Sanana, I offer my salutations to you. O gods and ancestors, forgive me for my inability to respect you. Now, wherever I sit, I will remember Kamsa Vairi and the Lord of the Yadava (Shri Krishna) and thereby be freed from all sinful bondage. I think this is enough for me.”
Chanting all kinds of hymns three times a day, taking a bath early in the morning, and offering obeisances to the ancestral deities are obligatory for the novice devotees. But when a person is perfected in Krishna consciousness and engaged in transcendental loving service, he neglects these rules because he has already attained perfection. If a devotee reaches a state of perfect understanding through the service of Lord Krishna, there is no need to perform various penances as described in the scriptures. Similarly, if a person does not understand that the purpose of the Vedas is to reach Lord Krishna and simply engages in rituals and ceremonies, he is wasting his time in such activities.
