VN Video Editor (VlogNow) provides an efficient workflow across iPhone, Android, and Mac, with Windows accessible via emulation. To start, tap the plus icon to create a new project and import your primary talking footage first rather than gathering all assets at once. Choose your video format at the top—leaving it on “Original” keeps the project matched to your source video’s native aspect ratio.
Begin editing by tightening the primary footage to eliminate mistakes, hesitations, and dead air. Move the white playback line to the target frame and tap the split (scissors) icon to divide the clip, then delete unwanted portions. Alternatively, select any clip to reveal yellow boundary handles and drag them inward to adjust the start and end points using the visual audio waveforms as a guide. VN automatically adds a “Directed by” title card at the end of the timeline; select and delete this credit block before proceeding.
Once the primary storyline is clean, add your B-roll overlay footage by tapping the add layer icon and choosing your extra media. B-roll clips sit on a track directly above the main video, allowing you to reposition, resize, or scale them to full screen. VN features magnetic timeline behavior: secondary media automatically anchors to the underlying primary clip, meaning overlays move along with their parent footage if you rearrange sections.
Next, add titles and text by selecting the text layer. Choose from preset templates, enter your copy, and customize elements like fonts, colors, borders, drop shadows, and alignment. You can set keyframe motion paths or use the “Motion” menu to establish fade, slide, or scale behaviors for both entry and exit points, as well as looping animations for accents like subscribe badges. For scene changes, use the small plus icon at clip boundaries to add standard transitions. When cutting between similar angles of the same speaker, avoid distracting transition effects; instead, crop in slightly on the second clip to simulate a seamless two-camera setup, matching the subject’s eye line between shots.
