politicians, social workers, and philanthropists do not bring good results in their physical actions. This is because politicians and philanthropists do not have spiritual vision, they do not know what is actually beneficial for human society. Non-violence means training people in a way that will make the most of human life. Human life is meant for spiritual realization. Therefore, any movement or organization that does not bring about that benefit is causing violence to human life. That which brings about future spiritual happiness to the common people is called non-violence.
Freedom from attachment and aversion is equanimity, or equanimity. It is not good to be too interested or too averse. One should accept this material world without attachment or aversion. To practice Krishna consciousness, one must accept what is favorable and renounce what is unfavorable. That is called equanimity. A person in Krishna consciousness has no need to renounce or accept anything except for the sake of benefit in practicing Krishna consciousness

Purport: The senses are different doors for sensual pleasures, and even though lust is hidden in the body, a way is shown through the senses for it to come out. Therefore, the senses are better than the whole body. When there is good feeling or Krishna consciousness, these doors are closed. In Krishna consciousness, the soul establishes a direct relationship with the Supreme Lord. Therefore, the hierarchy of bodily activities, as described here, ultimately ends in the Supreme Soul. Bodhisattva means sensual pleasures. To stop the senses is to stop all bodily activities. But since the mind is active, even when the body is quiet or resting, it continues to work. When there is a dream, it does the same. However, above the mind is the determination of the intellect, above the intellect is the soul. That is why if the soul is directly engaged in the service of the Lord, naturally the other subordinate things, i.e. the intellect, mind and senses, will be engaged in service without any effort. There is a similar verse in the Katho Upanishad. It is said that the objects of sense enjoyment are better than the senses, and the mind is better than the objects of the senses. That is why if the mind is directly engaged in the service of the Lord continuously, there is no chance of the senses becoming absorbed in other ways. In the Katho Upanishad the soul is described as “Mahaan” (great). That is why the soul is superior to all, i.e. the objects of the senses,
