That is why, as we have said in the introduction, the Bhagavad Gita should be made into a tradition. When the tradition was destroyed, Arjuna was chosen to revive it. Arjuna must accept everything that Sri Krishna said. Only then will we understand the essence of the Bhagavad Gita and only then will we be able to know that Sri Krishna is the God of Gods.
The self is the self, the self is the supreme being, the consciousness of the world, the existence of the world, the deity, the deity of the world, the path of the universe.
Self; eva – certainly; atmana – you; atmanam – you know; tvam – you; purushottam – O purushottam; bhutabhava-1 O origin of all; bhuta esha – O God of all, O God. devadeva: jagat vale – O Lord of the entire world.
O Purushottama! O Source of all! O Lord of all beings! O Jagannatha! Truly, only You can know Yourself through Your inner power.
Purport: Arjuna does not perform devotional service like his followers.
Only those who are in relationship with Him through the medium of the divine Lord Krishna can know Him. People who are demoniacs and materialistic cannot know Krishna. Mental imagination that distances them from God is a grave sin. A person who does not know Krishna properly should try to comment on the Bhagavad Gita and say that the Bhagavad Gita is the word of Krishna. Since it is Krishna knowledge, it should be understood from Krishna as Arjuna understood it. It should not be accepted from atheists.
In the Srimad Bhagavatam (1.2.11) it is said thus:
The word “tattva” is the duality of knowledge. The word “brahmet” is the duality of knowledge.
It is experienced in three forms: as the incorporeal Brahman, as the Supreme Soul in the heart, and finally as the Supreme Lord. Therefore, at the stage of understanding the Supreme, man approaches God. Whether an ordinary person, a liberated soul who has experienced the incorporeal Brahman, or the Supreme Soul in the heart, is the Supreme Lord.
The man who addresses himself as the father of the universe, the Turkish origin of the gods, asks for proof of this.
Those who drink the trividya; puta- purified; posah- from sins; dali- with sacrifices; istha- those who know the three Vedas; mala- offering me the soma; svargatam- to reach heaven; pratrayaste- pray; te- they; punyam- virtuous; asadya- having attained; surendra- Indra; lokam- the world; asrva- experience; divyan- divine divi- in heaven; devabogan- the worlds of gods
Those who study the Vedas and drink Somarasam, desiring the heavenly realms, worship Him indirectly. Having been cleansed of their sins, they are born in the holy Indraloka and enjoy the divine pleasures.
Explanation: The word “Taividya” refers to the three Vedas, namely the Samaveda, the Yajurveda and the Rigveda. A Brahmin who has studied these three Vedas is called a “Trivedi”. Anyone who is endowed with the knowledge of these three Vedas is respected in the community. Unfortunately, there are many Vedic scholars who do not know the ultimate purpose of Vedic study. That is why Lord Krishna has declared here that He is the ultimate destination for the three Vedas. The three Vedas, having conquered them, take refuge at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna and are established in pure devotional service, which is His pleasure. Devotional service begins with the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra and with it, trying to know Lord Krishna in reality. But unfortunately, the traditional Vedic scholars are more interested in performing sacrifices for various deities like Indra and Chandra. By such efforts, the worshippers of the various deities are certainly purified from the contamination of the lower modes of nature and reach the higher worlds like Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka or the heavenly worlds. When situated in those higher worlds, the living entity can enjoy sense gratification millions of times more than in this world.
