and death cannot be removed by accumulating wealth or economic development. There are many countries in the world that are full of all the comforts of life, they are full of years. They are economically developed, but even there there are miseries of life. They are seeking light in many ways. But they can attain real happiness only by approaching Krishna or the Bhagavad-gita, the Srimad-Bhagavatam (those that have Krishna knowledge).

If economic prosperity and worldly comforts could remove the family, social, national and international sorrows of man, then Arjuna would not have been able to remove his sorrow even if he had a kingdom without enemies on earth or a dominion like that of the gods in heaven. That is why he took refuge in Krishna consciousness. It is a good way to the harmony of light, economic development or dominion, which can be destroyed at any moment with the destruction of creation. Now, just as humans have risen from the moon and sought refuge, their attempt to reach the higher worlds can also be destroyed with one blow. The Bhagavad Gita confirms this by saying, “When the fruit of merit fades, the world of mortals is destroyed.” When the fruit of meritorious deeds fades, the living entity returns from the peak of bliss to the lower state of existence. Many politicians of the world have fallen in this way. Such failures only cause more.

So if we want to seek goodness and avoid sorrow, we should approach Lord Krishna as Arjuna did. That is, Arjuna asked Lord Krishna to solve his problem for sure. This is the process of Krishna consciousness.

Sanjayah uvaca – Sanjay spoke; evam – thus; uktva – cha hrisikesam – to the master of the senses; gudakesah – Arjuna, who is skilled in controlling fire; parastavah – one who makes the enemies hot. yotsye – I will not fight; iti – that; govindam – the need of

the Lord Krishna who gave: uttva- spoke, tuston- remained silent; he remained silent. ha-certainly.

Sanjaya said: After inciting the enemies and saying this, Arjuna said to Lord Krishna, “Govinda! I will not fight,” and remained silent.

Purport: Dhrtarastra must have been very happy to know that Arjuna was not going to fight, but that he was going to give up the battlefield and take up a life of begging instead. But Sanjaya again discouraged him by saying that Arjuna was capable of killing his enemies (parantapa). Due to family attachment, Arjuna, although he was a little hesitant, took refuge in the Supreme Guru, Lord Krishna, as a disciple. This indicates that he would soon be freed from the false sorrows and griefs caused by family attachment, and would become wise with perfect self-realization (Krishna consciousness) and would fight without fail. Since Arjuna would be enlightened by Lord Krishna and fight to the end, Dhrtarastra’s happiness would be shattered.

That.

The voice of Hrishikesh, the beautiful Bharata, is heard amidst the fearsome army.

tam—with him; uvaca—said; hrishikesah—Lord Krishna, the Lord of the senses; prahasana—laughing; iva—as; bharata—O son of Bharata, Dhritarashtra; senayoh—armies; ubhayoh—both; madhye—in the middle; vishidastam—with the one who is grieving; idam—the following; vacah—the words.

O Bharata! Between the two armies, Lord Krishna, smiling, spoke thus to the sorrowful Arjuna.

Explanation: A conversation is taking place between two close friends, Hrishikesh and Gudakesha. Although they are on the same level as friends, one of them voluntarily becomes the disciple of the other. Lord Krishna is laughing because the friend has decided to become a disciple. As the Lord of all, the owner of everything, He is always
