Now, I will try to explain this right from the beginning. I will explain one or two layers, and then you will automatically be able to do the rest. I have complete faith that you can do it, and you should also have that confidence in yourself.

First of all, you need to have the Alight Motion app with you. If you don’t have the Alight Motion app, check my Telegram and WhatsApp channels where I have posted it. Even if you just jump straight into the project, that is fine too. The project link is right in the description. If you face any import issues, I recently made a video addressing that, so watch it to clear up maximum doubts. There is no issue even if you use XML files because I will provide all the photos and PNGs. You can check them out. Okay?

First, what we need is a background. For this background, I picked out a few options from the Pinterest app as examples. I don’t usually search intensely for backgrounds; I just simply type in ‘background image’. Many people overthink this and get stuck, but you shouldn’t do that. Just search for whatever small idea or thought you have, and you will get a ton of banner options. If you already have your own dot overlays, you can use those too. Now, as an example, these options showed up, but I don’t want these. I want something a bit different, so you have to keep browsing like this. It might waste a little time, but that’s no problem. For instance, a background like this fits perfectly. First, choose the background that best matches the style of video you want to make. Something like this evening sunlight or sunrise vibe sets a really good backdrop. Go ahead and search a bit to find yours. I already have one downloaded, so I will try to apply that and show you. I will also try to put maximum editing material links in the description for you to use.

First, our main requirement is a photo, so I will select this one. We have this sunrise image. You can stretch its duration as much as you want—even until the very end of the video is totally fine. As an example, let’s set it up to 12 seconds. Don’t worry about matching it precisely per minute; just lay it out normally. Now, I will go into the ‘Move and Transform’ option and adjust its Z-value. There are two kinds of movements in the Z-value: one goes into the minus section where scrolling up makes it look zoomed in, but that’s not what we want. Consider the other direction as the positive side. For example, I will set this to 2000 and zoom in manually using my fingers. Alternatively, you can use the built-in ‘Scale’ option to zoom in. I personally prefer using my fingers, so I will center it like this. It is perfectly set now.

Next, I will add an image. I will show you those couple photos that I converted into PNGs by opening my gallery to give you an idea. Look here: I created PNG cutouts of these couple photos. I will share the exact prompt for this, and I’ll also explain a method to create these kinds of photos. First, open ChatGPT. I uploaded a photo there, and it generated a beautiful, romantic cartoon-style couple image for me. I wanted to start this editing style with a cartoon look, but if you don’t want a cartoon aesthetic, just remove the word ‘cartoon’ from the prompt, and it will generate a perfectly realistic image. Check that out, and then generate about three couple photos like this. Towards the end, I gave a prompt in Telugu, which felt very simple to me. Since I also needed a single-person photo, I instructed it to remove the girl from the uploaded photo and make it look like only the boy is walking. There is another one too that I’ll show you because it will be very useful. This one looks great because I wanted a back-facing pose with hands raised up. So I gave a similar instruction: remove the girl from the back pose and create a photo of the boy standing behind with both hands raised up. I also specified a zoomed-out photo size. You can try these variations out; the prompt is available in the description for you to check.

After generating, you also need to remove the background of those photos. For background removal, the PhotoRoom app is extremely useful. You can find the PhotoRoom app on my Telegram and WhatsApp channels, or you can download it directly from the Play Store. It will help you out a lot.

Now, we are done with all the external preparation steps and have found our solutions. From here on, everything needs to be edited inside the app. First, hit the plus icon at the bottom. We need a PNG, so I will add the background-removed PNG that we processed in the PhotoRoom app. I’ll place the back-facing photo right here. Wait, where did it go? Let me check… ah, here it is. I am zooming it in and placing it right up to this point. Both have been added now.

Now for the main topic: tap the plus icon at the bottom, go to ‘Object Element’, and select ‘Null’. You can use a camera layer too, no problem, but I really like using Null. I’ll select Null and extend its duration exactly up to 12 seconds. Now, select your background layer, click the option right next to the delete icon at the top, and link it to the Null layer. Do the exact same thing for the photo you added—link it to the Null layer as well. Currently, the spatial gap between these two layers is quite large. One is positioned around 2000 while the other is at zero, creating a depth gap of 2000. You might think the photos are simply stacked directly on top of each other, but the physical depth separation between them is quite significant.

Next, we need sunlight, so I will select a shape and zoom it out. After taking this round shape, go into ‘Move and Transform’ and set its Z-value according to your preference. For example, set it to 1000, zoom it in, and link it to the same Null layer. Extend this shape to the end of the timeline as well. To give it a sun-like appearance, go to ‘Color and Fill’ and apply a yellow tint. It can be yellow or a matching color that looks good to you. I will go into the ‘Gradient Color’ option, place yellow first, and bring it closer. For the lower color, I will use something like a dark orange tone. Look at that—it mimics realistic sunlight perfectly. Now that it’s set, you can slightly lower or increase its opacity as needed. The sunlight fits wonderfully.

Now, select the Null layer, add a keyframe right at the beginning, and zoom in slightly like this to create a moonlight or soft glow entry effect. Then move to the end of that beat mark and reduce the zoom. Look at that—the animation is taking shape. If you want it to move a bit faster, select the Null layer, go to ‘Move and Transform’, open the ‘Curve’ settings, and adjust the graph line. This will make the photo transition in quickly and then automatically transition into slow motion. Our first clip is fully ready, and you can adjust its positioning slightly.

To bring in the second clip, we need to zoom in again. You don’t have to do anything complicated for this; just select another shape. After drawing the shape, go to the Null option at the top, link it, and zoom in. Then go to ‘Color and Fill’, select the color picker pencil tool, and precisely target a color from the background so it matches perfectly. Once that matching color is ready, tap the plus icon to save it, and apply it. Next, go to the ‘Effects’ menu, tap ‘Add Effect’, go under the ‘Blur’ category, select ‘Gaussian Blur’, and crank the value all the way up. Copy this layer and duplicate it about three to four times. After duplicating, position it on top, go to effects, tap ‘Add Effect’, and look for the ‘Fade’ animation (Fade In/Out). Add it, turn the ‘Fade Out’ value down to zero, and slightly increase the ‘Fade In’ value. Following that, add a second keyframe and zoom into the Null layer.

Notice that when we zoom in here, the background starts causing some clipping issues. To fix this, we will manually zoom the background layer itself as much as needed to fill the screen completely. Make minor adjustments based on how it looks. It’s totally fine if you choose to completely remove the sun or that specific photo from this point onward because our generated photo sequence will take over, making it unnecessary.

From this point, we can start adding the couple photos. First, let’s extend this shape layer up to 12 seconds. If you feel a bit confused, just rewind and watch this part again. Now, I will add the couple photos here. I’ll extend the first photo up to 12 seconds. Instead of using ‘Move and Transform’ directly on the photo, select the Null layer at the top and link the photo to it. Now zoom in on the photo and watch how the animation flows. First, it comes in like this. You can choose to move it either to the left side or to the right side by adding a keyframe. You just have to continuously add and animate your photos along the timeline like this. Make sure to utilize this shape layer.

You can also add lyrics text behind the subject. For the text, I went straight to Google, searched for the original track, and copied the lyrics. Searching for the song’s title name will easily bring up the lyrics, or you can use any other song you prefer. First, let’s add the text by selecting the text tool. Choose a font style that you like, scale it up, and select your preferred color. I will choose white and scale it. First, link this text layer to the Null layer using the option at the top. Once linked, go to ‘Move and Transform’ and increase its Z-value slightly because we want the text to appear behind the person. For the lyrics phrase ‘Asale pilla’, duplicate the text layer, clear the previous text, and type ‘pilla’. You can position this text anywhere or duplicate it again. You can duplicate the lyrics layers as many times as you want to fit your project. I will create two or three duplicates.

Look at this—our lyrics sequence starts right here. Since it’s drifting a bit downward, I will first let it zoom in, scroll it over to the left side, and then zoom it back out. Add a motion curve here to give it a smooth, flat transitions. To make the second lyrics line appear from this point, go back to ‘Move and Transform’ and zoom in heavily on the Null layer. Duplicate the underlying shape layer, go to ‘Move and Transform’, and increase its Z-value so it pushes to the front. Cut the extra duration here, and it will be perfectly aligned.

You can add another couple photo on top of this layer or anything else you like. After adding the next couple photo, link it to the Null layer first. Linking it to Null makes your editing process much easier. See, the next lyric line has appeared. You just need to keep adding lyrics according to the audio beats and move the Null layer accordingly. It starts with a simple movement, followed by another animation step, and then a third transition. Because this part zoomed in a bit too much, I will adjust it to bring it closer instead of over-zooming, and then slide it sideways. Look here—the Z-value for this layer seems a bit too high at minus 8000. Instead of minus 8000, let’s go into ‘Move and Transform’. Sorry, my phone is lagging a bit. Since the Z-value is stuck at minus 8000, I will increase it and set it around minus 6000. Now observe the flow: the first lyrics line plays, the second lyrics line comes in from here, and then you just need to ensure the text layers stay positioned behind the subject. It is zooming in a bit over here, which isn’t what we want, so I will remove that keyframe and make it zoom out instead so it recedes into the background. The first and second lyrics will flow automatically, and from there, you can animate the photo movement to the left or right side based on how you want the lyrics to transition.

It is a very easy process once you get hands-on because creative ideas will keep coming to you as you work. It can feel a bit confusing at first, especially dealing with the Null layer adjustments, so keep an eye on that.
